Visiting Artists for Schools

I always think it’s funny to call myself an artist. When I hear that word, I picture someone with their work displayed in a gallery, surrounded by people nodding thoughtfully at paintings.
But being an artist isn’t just about galleries, it’s also about sharing creativity and inspiring others. For me, that happens in schools. As a visiting artist, I get to create art in front of children, and it’s one of the most rewarding things I do.
It always makes me smile when I hear a child whisper, “She’s an artist!” or when they start clapping out of nowhere. What I’ve realised is that it doesn’t matter how “good” you are (and let’s be honest, I’m no Picasso!) what matters is the magic of creating something right there in front of their eyes. Children are completely captivated by seeing art take shape in real time.
So yes, I am an artist, but my real strength is my passion for teaching art.
Over the years, I’ve developed and refined the way I run art workshops for schools, learning how to break creative projects into clear, manageable steps that help every child succeed.
These creative art sessions for children aren’t just about making something beautiful, they’re about building confidence, imagination and a love for art that lasts well beyond the classroom.
